Key card

My dealer cut my key for free but charged $80 to program the CC key. They only used the one key fob for programming. All three work just fine. They told me it wouldn't work because I got it from ebay (which I didn't) ... it was a Toyota part in Toyota packaging from a Toyota dealership that I ordered it directly from. Many times enthusiasts know way more about these cars than dealers or service centers do.

There was a post in this forum mentioning this eBay seller

CC key

I bought one and have an appointment next Friday to program and cut the key with local locksmith. Quoted $180.
Unfortunately my local locksmith was not able to program the CC key (purchased from ebay seller in the link I shared) using Toyota GTS+ software They mentioned since the FCC ID does not match, this could be the reason why.. Has anyone gotten theirs to work with FCC ID that does not match the fob that came with your LC?

If you don't mind sharing, what's the FCC ID on the back of your Credit Card FOB?

Yes. Most locksmith's won't even try for fear of bricking the Module. Even my dealer didn't want to try, but I convinced him to "give it a shot".

I would assume none of them match if they are for Tacomas, right? I mean it doesn’t matter if it’s from a dealer or eBay, they didn’t come with the LC so…am I wrong?

Supposedly, Tundra owners have gotten the Tacoma CC key to work with their Tundra having 2 diff FCC ID's.

Tundra CC Key

In theory, LC shouldn't be any different in terms of programming key fob's

No idea about locksmiths but the Toyota dealer can 100% do it. They programmed both my CC keys.

Can you share the FCC ID that's listed on the back of your CC fob? I want to try to have enough evidence for my dealer to prove that it works for other LC250 owners. TIA!!

If anyone in the St. Louis MO area had success programming their CC fob please share..

Take it to the dealer mine wasn't a problem took like 15min.

The Tacoma CC key will work on Tundras, Tacomas, Grand High Landers and Land Cruiser, that I'm aware of.
