It is not standard, and Toyota doesn't advertise it as being compatible with the LC250. However it works fine. I purchased it from a dealership and had them program it. If you go that route make sure you bring all your keys with you because they have to reprogram the car with all of them.Did the key card come standard or did you have to pay extra?
What do they cut the key from? Do you get an actual key with the vehicle? Sorry to be stupid, just haven’t taken delivery of mine yetThere was a post in this forum mentioning this eBay seller
CC key
I bought one and have an appointment next Friday to program and cut the key with local locksmith. Quoted $180.
You can find a good deal by searching various dealers. It is best to buy it online and have it shipped to you and bring it to the dealer. If you buy it at the dealer it is much more expensive (don't ask me why). I don't remember how much the programming cost.So how much did it cost?
There are no stupid questions. We’re all here to learn. Your LC fob comes with an emergency key built if in case your fob fails for any reason. The CC key also has an emergency key built inWhat do they cut the key from? Do you get an actual key with the vehicle? Sorry to be stupid, just haven’t taken delivery of mine yet
The simple answer is "they have a machine..."There are no stupid questions. We’re all here to learn. Your LC fob comes with an emergency key built if in case your fob fails for any reason. The CC key also has an emergency key built in
I’m not sure how the keys are cut. I’ll find out this coming Friday
As others have mentioned, your fob has a manual key. What do they cut the key from? Do you get an actual key with the vehicle? Sorry to be stupid, just haven’t taken delivery of mine yet
I don’t believe so either. But I do know on my Ram when my battery died on the fob I used the emergency key to unlock the door and had to hold the fob near the start button to turn the engine obo. Guessing it’s the same for Toyota’s but I haven’t looked into itThe simple answer is "they have a machine..."
I don't know how they cut the key, only that they did. Technically you don't need the key as it will only unlock the door; you cannot use it to start the LC250 as far as I know.
That is exactly what they are talking about! You might want to reread this thread! No what I'm talking about looks like a credit card but thicker, and take place of a key fob
Just watched a video of a deal using a Tacoma CC cardTher is no CC key for the LC........ however the one for the Tacoma works just fine.
