As the title suggests, what are your suggestions? I really wont air down that often, its just to go fishing on the beach really. Don't really need anything expensive since it wont be used all that much (less than 10 times a year likely). Thinking of a smaller compressor and a 2 tire inflator/deflator to save space.

I went with this Milwaukee and some Rhino USA adjustable auto deflators. Fills from 13 psi to 39 psi in under a minute ~52 seconds and can charge the batteries on the inverter if needed while out and about.

Takes longer for the auto deflators to air down than the compressor takes to air up, it has a built in digital live readout for the pressure.

Checked both against an accurate tire gauge as well as TPMS and they are spot on, all for much cheaper than any onboard option. Portable and can remove for weight and space saving when not needed.

I also have a Viair. I was hoping to install it under the hood like I did with my 200 series but the real estate under the 250's hood is scarce. I'm going to be installing a winch/bumper in the next couple of weeks if the weather permits. Once I have the front of the truck pulled apart, I may see if I can shoehorn it somewhere near the radiator. I had it bolted to the hidden winch mount that I installed on my 200 series and it worked great there.

Same. The Milwaukee M18 inflator, which works great. I need to add that nice looking pack out case.

I have this one as well. Works great. Keep mine in a soft carry bag available from amazon.

Iโ€™ve got an Ironman air compressorโ€”an absolute beast (probably just a Viair in disguise). But ever since I picked up the M18 inflator, the Ironmanโ€™s been collecting dust. between unspooling 30 feet of air hose and wrestling with cables, the M18โ€™s already aired up, packed away, and back in the truck

For your use case (less than once a month), just go with a Harbor Freight cheapo and spend the saved money on bait.

Viair 400P EF A compressor works like a charm and plugs directly into the 7-pin trailer connection by the hitch. The aux port on the 7-pin has a 30 amp rating and this model of Viair has a max of 30 amps. The 7-pin dongle for the Viair is an accessory. Fills my 34x10.5 R17 tires from 20lbs to 35lbs in about 1 minute per tire. Sweet!

Do you hook it up to your battery? If so, do you hook it up to the spare battery in the trunk?
FYI, the battery youโ€™re referring to isnโ€™t a โ€œspareโ€ - thatโ€™s your battery handling everything except for cranking the engine and providing power to the drivetrain.

Ordered this one, be here tomorrow

Home Depot currently has this M18 on sale with charger and 2 batteries for about $270
This one with case is $299

Got one of these on amazon to go on the M18 inflator. Makes it just a bit easier.
I've been using this also, the ease of use outweighs any reduced speed for me. However, I found this cool high flow chuck from Apex Designs. Ordered one, well see how well it works
