I finally achieved the elusive 25+mpg... and got over 400 miles out of one tank!

As am I! I am an old timer and drive close to the speed limit here in Washington. I never have gotten better than 23.4 on premium or regular, doesn’t seem to make much difference. Thank you for giving me some hope!
When I first picked up my LC, I was getting 20.8 - 21mpg

After changing out the tires, I have been steady at 20.2 MPG for 3 months now, it never changes.

I am in flat as a pancake Florida, with average temps in 70s (this time of year) I drove at or close to the speed limit (depending on the road, 60, 65 or 70mph) and I use Costco Premium because around my neck of the woods, sand in gas station tanks is a real thing.

Costco does such volume and I have watched them maintain their pumps including changing out the pumps filters, so I know the gas is clean, plus Costco Premium is close to the price that regular gas stations are charging for Regular.

I am averaging 24.57 miles per gallon Most city driven. Thats 6.5 per Km/L. I am not even close to what was original given document on the specs for FE here in Dubai. (10.6 Km/L Per x3.75US Gallon=30+ km

I was averaging 22-23MPG when I first got it... I live in Denver.

I then upgraded with a Westcott kit, new method wheels and Falcon Wild Peak tires (close to 34 inch) it looks mean, amazing in the snow...but I get 17.2 MPG's now and I became a rewards member at the gas station. Love this SUV, BUT...they should have made the gas tank bigger...major issue for lot's of owners who modified.

Can't disagree with the gas tank size at all... coming from my '17 Tacoma, even with the better fuel mileage of the LC; the smaller tank and premium fuel cost means I'm spending nearly the same per month on fuel ups.

I beat my own previous record with another road trip. This time I was coming home from Pisgah NF to the Piedmont of N.C. after another bike weekend. For this trip, I put the bike in the cargo area but the bike rack was still on the receiver (folded up).

I made it from Brevard to Charlotte at 24.7mpg, then had to refuel in Charlotte. From there to home, I managed 26.4mpg at highway speeds (71 indicated) for 130 miles.

So happy to finally see the good mpg on the display!

This car rewards economic driving like none other. My wife has a lead foot and gets about 17mpg mixed city/highway driving; my driving nets me around 19. If I'm conscious about fuel economy - accelerate moderately, don't exceed 70-75mph on the highway etc - then I can easily pull 22-24mpg. The truck isn't completely stock; I have a Sherpa full-size roof rack on it, 33" e-rated Toyo tires, and have removed some of the plastic crap underneath the front bumper

I just took a 1500 mile round trip and averaged 22.1 , Using premium fuel . Was hoping to get 25.

If I did the speed limit in SoCal, a bus full of nuns would fly by flipping me off!
whaddya talking about....average speed on a SoCal freeway is like 25 mph at best...hahahaha. I did notice that when the freeways open up there (traffic is gone) people do fly there.

I did it!

It was a road trip to the coast of N.C. for a bike race, and I kept the speeds to within 5 of posted, spent most of the trip on US 70 with a posted limit of 55, and only about 100 miles of it was interstate speeds.

Lessons learned from this test of patience and throttle discipline; don't be tempted to mash the accelerator just to appease an impatient driver from behind. Their lack of planning and foresight does not constitute an urgency of your foot on the accelerator.

I tripped 6000 miles on this drive, used premium fuel, used the adaptive CC almost exclusively, and have the Nitto Ridge Grapplers set at 36psi with a bike on the bike rack the entire trip.
That's awesome. Three questions:
1. Mountain bike or Road race?
2. How'd you do in the race?
3. Were you in sport mode, normal mode or eco mode?

Nitto Ridge Grapplers set at 36psi
I found having the Falken Wildpeaks (285/70R18) set at 35psi has a significant impact on MPG as well. With about an equal mix of city/highway driving the average MPG in Fuelio is 22.4.

I drove about 110 miles in ECO mode on pretty flat highway yesterday. Average 21.8MPG at 68-70 mph. I hoped for the better results..
I'll try NORMAL mode next time

This is amazing -I am assuming there were at least hills in this drive …. Seems like it is underpowered for even the smallest of hills and the mpg indicator tanks on every climb - the “60” mpg coming down hill doesn’t seem to offset it much bc the best I’ve achieved is 22. But that is only one tank and most are around the 20mpg range ….. I live in southern Arkansas where we have hill not mountains so I figured the people who had mtns must avg a lot less ! No modifications at all ….. wanted a roof rack and a few other things but not sure they are worth even more gas since I put on a lot of miles .
