Congrats! Effingham? Not too south, but anything south of Chicago is Southern Illinois, right?

Actually in Carbondale but purchased in Effingham. And yes if it’s south of I-80 it’s southern illinois if you live in Chicago
As a former Chicago-area (Aurora) resident I'm trying to remember why I was in Carbondale at least once.
Nice 1958! I am really happy with mine, hope you will enjoy yours as well! Welcome to the forum! I’m in Indiana now, but used to live near Bloomington-Normal, and then rural Danville, Illinois. I drive around Illinois often, either treks through to St. Louis or just some easy driving. Still an Illini fan(and I do watch a bit of Saluki football when I can), hard habits hard to break!

Depends on the time frame you were in Aurora, Carbondale was known for their Halloween celebration and people would ride the trains from Chicago and the burbs to party in the street. It got way out of hand and SIU began closing during that weekend to avoid trouble and visitors.
