I've been curious if anyone has considered swapping the front clip between these cousin vehicles.

I would be VERY expensive but in a world like ours, surprised it hasn't been done yet ;-)

would need Hood, Fenders, Headlights + more etc, but i have to say, the off road bumpers available for the GX look so much better than the equivalent offerings on ours.

anyhow, just thinking out loud friends, Happy Friday all!

Not sure I get what you're saying - wouldn't you just buy the GX550 then?

Some different people come up with some pretty dumb pimping ideas in here, ok this is not so dumb, just stoopid.

stupid? wow. i just saw a pic of a 2025 4runner with 2024 Tacoma facelift, thought it looked cool.

Not my cup of tea to do a front end swap with the gx550. The headlights are iconic Lexus while you still got the Toyota badge all over. Now if you wanted to do entire mechanical swap (engine, transmission..etc) swap from the gx to the LC....now that would be fucking cool.

Just personal but the front end on the Lexus is the part that made me not consider it. I would like to have that engine but no way I would want the moulded one piece no bumper looking front and the grill that looks like it comes off a sedan. Super nice vehicle, but I want a truck (LC).

There are two older GX’s in my neighborhood all lifted up, big tires, one with a snorkel, red skid plate, huge roof racks with boxes, etc. and that huge grill reaching to the bottom of the vehicle, and molded in running boards. I have never seen either with any mud on them. In my opinion, they look ridiculous. It’s like they bought a luxury car and tried to turn it into a truck/Land Cruiser. I guess in their defense, they didn’t have a new LC model to buy a few years ago, but they still look stupid.

Tacoma front end looks better than the 6th Gen 4Runner, so this I could see doing. Putting a GX550 front end on an LC250? Not so much, but whoever does it would probably become an internet meme pretty quickly. Heck, maybe even go viral!

I don't think it's a stupid question OP. I was thinking the same thing but in reverse. Putting an LC LC on a GX. Curious of the swapabilities. (y)

I know it. It’s like the people buying the ‘58 then putting bigger tires, upgrading the stereo, getting seats upholstered in leather and trying to add mts. Spent $10k on upgrades and the vin still shows it’s a ‘58. Yet they have no regrets.

I personally would like to see a panel swap to painted panels vs the cladding on mine. Using gx or a European lc parts. I have the trail dust and I don’t think you want more of that color but white or any other colors would look good.
