Back in April I hit some standing water on a highway doing about 55mph. I cut right through the water but it was a bit more significant than a “puddle”. As soon as I was clear of it, all sorts of warning lights went off so I pulled off the highway into a parking lot (maybe 50 yards from where this occurred).

Come to find out that my entire tank of gas was depleted (just filled it up before I left home). Couldn’t figure out what was going on and had to leave it sit in the parking lot and uber 2 hours away in order to get my son to his wrestling tournament. Got it towed to the dealer the following Monday and learned that a retention clip for the fuel line must’ve been loose and got dislodged from the water I went through causing an entire section of the fuel line to drop off from under the LC.

I was without the LC for a week while I waited on parts and repair. It was all covered but still a huge inconvenience and something I still can’t understand as I’ve never had anything like that happen before.

So, maybe double check those orange retention clips and make sure they are properly secured along your fuel line. Could be an easy safety check to help avoid a mess like I had.
