Just a heads up on an issue I had yesterday:
Attempted to use my remote start in somewhat cold weather (-17c). The engine cranked but would not turn over so I went out and started it with the push start, it fired up just fine. I let it idle for a couple of minutes and then shut it off. I got out and used the remote on the fob to start the vehicle while I got ready to leave.
When I went back to the vehicle after a few minutes, the CEL (and I'm assuming every warning light on the dash) lit up. The screen keep cycling though multiple errors such as 'check engine visit your dealer', 'secondary collision brake system malfunction' etc etc. I also noticed the RPMs surging rhythmically at idle (would go just over and just under 1k rpm).
Driving felt very sluggish, as if the hybrid motor wasn't functioning and I was just running on ICE alone, and the RPMs were higher than normal at 50km/h (like close to 2k rpm).
I called the dealership and fortunately they had a time slot available, so brought it in. Turns out it was a bad cell in the 12v battery, so they just replaced the battery. I'm still scratching my head about this one, would a bad cell cause all those issues I was having? I'm not convinced, but for now everything seems to be operating normally.
I also asked about the break squeal in reverse, you could tell the person at the desk has heard it a million times before as she started answering me before I finished asking the question. She said it was 'normal' and it goes away after a little bit; yeah we all know that! I knew I wasn't getting anywhere so I just left it at, "I've never had that happen on any other vehicle I've owned, its annoying and I hope there will be a TSB soon". She didn't seem to care, but I figured I'd mention it anyway, if they hear the complaint enough, maybe they'll actually look into it.
