Does anyone who has a FE know if the factory rack will accept a Thule Ascent 1100 roof top box? Mine has grab hands that wrap around cross bars. Thanks for the help!!! Dr. M.

I asked this same question earlier. A couple folks replied that rooftopcarriers with claw style grabbers do work on the FE rack.
I looked at my 58 rack (same as the one on the FE) and checked against my Thule roof box and my Yakima Mega Warrior cargo basket. Both have the locking clamp feet that fit onto this rack's ledger style bars (right term?)
Did you ever get this resolved? I’ve got an FE and as winter approaches I’m thinking of getting a roof top box for some trips to the mountains.

I have not been back to our Colorado place, where our Thule is yet. We go back early November and I will try it out then. I thing it is going to work, based on looking at my FE rack.

Mine fit fine. I have a Yakima box and I had to turn the front grabber on the box around as the bar was too close to the front fairing. Works fine though. I know Thule has a different grabbing system but it should work too.

My Thule ski box has the grabber/claw style attachment point. It did NOT fit on my first edition rack because the rails are the same height as the front edge. The attachment point is recessed on my ski box so it needs a raised rail to attach to - I suspect it would work on a the LC LC crossbar setup though.

I got a Yakima CBX-16 that fit my first edition rack really well.
What's the name of this Yakima box?

Not sure as it was given to me by my brother who didn't want it. I use it very limited maybe once or twice a year.
