My prediction is that the Scout, being a VW derivative, will have a much wider service infrastructure in place with the existing dealer networks and build out will be much faster than Rivian ever was. The Scout is built on Rivian tech, but with VW backing

I believe Scout already announced they will adopt a Tesla-like model with company owned service centers. Since EVs typically do not need as much service, this makes some sense. Also VW sold over 1 million EVs in 2025 vs 200,000 for Toyota.

It's got to make it to market in a timely fashion. First deliveries in 2028 might be okay but any delays won't bode well. I'm not holding my breath to be honest. I thought I really wanted a VW ID...until it actually arrived.
