I had the same reaction to the cool box and when I went searching for why I found a cult-like following lol. I switched it off and put a top tray in it but not gonna lie...I'm hoping to find a reason to drink the Kool-aid and love the cool box

I tried to give it a chance. I put a 16.9 fl oz ( 500 ml) bottle of water in there, and it was too tall so I could not close the top. If I can't have a cold bottle of water, what's the point?

Welcome! Also dumped my '18 Jeep JLU Sahara MT after starting to get nickeled and dimed (then bills in the hundreds of dollars) to death starting at 102,000 miles. I also avoided having to have my doors/hinges redone because of under-the-paint corrosion issue at an estimate of $7K for 3 of them.

I love the cool box on long trips - it's great for keeping beverages and snacks cold. I think everyone either loves it or hates it

We used the cool box when we took a trip to the beach at the end of April - it was unusually hot the days we were traveling and the cold water was handy. Have used it a few times since................. but I have wondered if I need to turn it off to try to help mpg's so it is off at the moment............

How DEEP is the insert posted? It tells the package size on the listing - not the product dimensions.........

Welcome and it sounds like you got the dreaded "tick" issue.

We also have a Gladiator and hoping we don't get it. We need a medium size truck for hauling things.

The LC is so much nicer and quieter for long trips and with the torque it holds speeds much better. But they are 2 very different vehicles.

What type of mpg do the gladiator's get? And is the dreaded tick something that appears around 100K? I ask bc my husband REALLY wants a Jeep Truck, but my kids keep telling him they aren't dependable and it will break down etc. He doesn't drive many miles per year in his vehicle and he is retired, so maybe 8-10K miles a year on a busy year............

But then I am already frustrated with the brakes squealing so bad in the new LC.......... that I am wondering if any vehicle is really dependable....
