Dongar PRO - Dash Cam Parking Mode Adapter UPDATES!

I used the 5-pin under the overhead console. I started behind the mirror but did not see any available harness. The overhead dome had an unused 5-pin taped up by factory visible from the drivers seat.
It was very easy to run the cable to the mirror above the roof lining

Thanks, really helped you mentioned it was taped up on passenger side, I would probably searched for quite a while otherwise. The obvious connection was a a 10 pin male connection on drivers side, wonder what thats for…?

Probably the one I could not find! Possibly for the OEM camera that can extend behind the mirror?? Either way, the 5-pin seems to be doing the job

2. Why do you recommend the roof cavity install for the LC instead of the rearview mirror install?

3. What happens if you disconnect the Toyota Safety Sense 12-Pin? Are there any issues if you just plug it back in?

4. Are you going to post any LC video install guides?

There’s been radio silence for a while now from Dongar reps. Appeared like Parking Mode functionality was the Achilles heel of the system, perhaps based more on camera company wiring nuances than something on their end - but an issue nonetheless.

Been sitting on sideline hoping this gets worked out and new models/upgrades to Fitcam and Viofo come out before buying. Viofo now offers 4K front and rear cameras and I’m almost ready to bite that hook.

Same on this side - it would be great if someone knows if that 5-pin connector for the OEM camera that’s in the overhead panel where the map lights are provide the three required connections for Viofos HK6 cable connector then that module can be installed there with the matching male connector instead of fuse taps or obd2 port connectors …

If anyone knows the wiring scheme and power/voltage for this 5 pin connector please let us know it would be greatly appreciated- the OEM dashcam is not so appealing -

Reached out will see- but I’m curious if anyone knows what are the connections that are available from the original OEm dashcam connector ? Power input ? ACC? Ground ? … or a diagram can really help

It would be great just tapping into that connector to power the HK4 or HK6 modules then the cameras and that will unlock all parking mode features

1. My Dongar Pro included the cables.
2. The plastic part is very difficult to pull out. It took way more force than I anticipated. Definitely watch some videos and use a good tool to grab and pull down on the part. I tried using my fingers, but that just hurt like heck!
