So I just had my dealer order the basic center console storage box. The Cool box is of no use to me, I use the center console as my office. I’ll post it on here for sale soon if anyone wants it.

You get the cool box switched out yet? Would like to know the details and cost cause I may consider the same thing. Thanks'.

Not sure that would be plausible, the Cool Book being integrated into the HVAC system refrigerant plumbing. Come to think of it, it may also be integrated into the HVAC electronics/controls/firmware.

If it’s integrated that far then that would be a bummer. I thought it would just need the hvac ducting to it and power basically. I haven’t really dug into it though.

For sure Rob, to say the least. I am with the majority, i.e. would rather have the space, but the cost and procedure to remove it appears to be prohibitive. The wife will love to put her sodas there, which means more trip-slowing detours at rest stops.

Oh I know what you mean. I make stops way more if the ladys awake due to those rest stops.

Most of you probably know this, but I thought this cool box was a new feature to the LC for the 250 model. But I was watching something the other day and discovered certain models of the old 100 and 200 series had cool boxes too.

I would like to have the cooling box removed from my 2024 FE Landcruiser. I would rather have the space. Has anyone done this or know IF it can be done?

As with anything, it CAN be done. However, you should take some time looking at how it is integrated with the A/C system in your car. There is a lot going on there and you might find that it is a bigger job than you want to tackle.

I've heard there is on/off for the cooler box. I assume you can just leave off and use as storage?

There is absolutely an ON/OFF switch, but that has nothing to due with the storage space difference between cool box vs. no cool box.
