Bug deflectors

I installed OEM Toyota hood protector last Monday. PW421-60013. Imported from Europe. Looks very slick and I like it. Minimum order was two, so I have a second one for sale.

Do you mind me asking what you paid? I am in Houston, TX if you're interested.

I sold my second hood protector week ago. They run about 165.00 Euros including European Value Added Tax (VAT), but shipping of those bulky items from overseas was expensive. So they were about 300.00 USD each delivered to my home in RI.

How's the deflector working for you? Does it really reduce bugs getting on your windshield?

The OEM deflector is more of a chip shield, I haven't had it on a long trip yet....... so can't give an informed opinion yet.

Update, The hood deflector I installed .....

well let's just say the three center, double sided tape mounts didn't stay adhered to the hood too long. The tape has not stayed stuck to the hood surface and flaps at highway speeds. I am going to try and fab some clips like the ones in the other kit (Ladder Frame bug deflector)

and see if that will help.

I checked my hood protector after reading your post and sure thing-one of the mounts is not adhered to the hood any longer.
Hats off-I admire your innovative approach in solving this problem, but for now I am going to use Gorilla Heavy Duty double sided tape. If it works-great! If not, I would have to follow your steps in resolving this issue. Ladder Frame system is definitely a better design.
