Took the plunge and stamped each rim with a letter. Both sets (one set of 5 Toyota stock 265/60-R20s, one set of four of Method 321 9x18J w/ 295/70-R18s; A through E, and A through D, respectively) were marked on the inside (only visible off-vehicle) in a small, unfinished, essentially rectangular window-
Note to anyone who cares- cheaper transfer letter/number sets are harder to emboss with, you really gotta whack 'em. Sorry, no pics of stamping results- can send if anyone would like.
The result of the tire tracking and change (it took way longer to get the white oak section in place than it did to do the tires)-
