My understanding for ditch light is to fill the surrounding so I would imagine it should be flood light? But I think I saw essentially all the ditch light is spot light. Am I missing anything?

I think the best way to decide is to first figure out what you need the lights to do?

Near, Far? projected down the trail, or to light up the sides of the trail?

Light Bar - Mounted on the roof would be goof for driving where you need to see far ahead. a mix of a spot and combo would be best for lighting the sides whilst also projecting further forward.

Ditch lights - Ones mounted on the bonnet near the windscreen good for off-roading where you want to see the areas to the side, and as someone posted earlier you can mount a combination of different lights, some that project further infront and flood to light the sides of your vehicle.

Grille mounted -

I'm going to be fitting Lazer lamps grille mounted ones as I primarily drive in sand, and when I take the car back to Europe, forests and snow.

Did you ever install the grille lights from Lazer? I installed their fog lights a week or two ago and have been really happy with them. I've been thinking about doing the grille ones, but have been looking for some feedback from people who have them.

Not yet it's summer over hear so 45-50c (120ish in freedom units) so not needed them yet. Any photos of your fog lights? I

There're a couple pictures here, but I haven't taken any from the driver's seat at night yet.

In Delaware if you have top mount lights. You will fail vehicle inspection if they are not covered.
So be prepared to black them out in order to pass inspection in Delaware.
