ARB base rack is now available

Test drive in the morning, fit and finish very good.

Well the first day driving we had 40 mph winds so everything was very loud. The initial driving experience had a weird buffeting on the vehicle roof. So much so that if you placed your hand on the headliner, you could feel the entire roof of the vehicle shaking. I have removed the awning in an attempt to isolate if the awning was causing the vibration. I placed the awning mounting brackets at the very front and very back of the rack. It appears that that portion of the rack is not directly bolted to the base rails and may be unsupported my theory is that there may have been some isolation as a result of this. If the noise and vibration is gone, I will place the awning back on with the brackets on one of the cross members that have bolts to the mounting rail.

For now, the verdict is out. It will continue to update but fit and finish is amazing.

Although that will only matter if I can solve the buffering oscillating shaking issue.

Plus today will also be less windy and hopefully a better representation of daily driving.

I appreciate the update. The rack looks great so hopefully you can get the noise/vibration sorted out.

Following for updates.

Would it be possible to get a measurement on single slat width (car movement direction of measurement).

Well no awning and less wind today, made for a better drive today. Still have noise and buffeting, but is it more or less than OTHER racks?

I had LFD RACK on my 4Runner. It was louder but fit no shake the roof.

Have a few more things to try.

And a picture of the bar width.
