Alldogs Spacer Eraser

The stiffness has improved my on-road handling. I am sitting higher but not a ton. Body roll is definitely not as bad as it was. If you were to install them with a stock setup you will likely get the full 1.5 inches after they have settled.

I didn't measure the rear, I should have but it was sitting slightly higher but I did not get as big of a lift as I did in the front. After they have settled a few days the front no longer sits higher than the rear. I could really tell when driving home that night as my headlights were basically blinding people on the road(fixed now).

Overall I'm really happy with the $400 I spent on them. Time will tell how they hold up.

It will be, it was recommended to me to let them settle for a week or two before getting the alignment done.

I will add the swap was extremely easy minus the issues i had with my spring compressors. Ill go with more expensive ones next time. If i didn't have the compressor issues i could have done all 4 sides in about 2 hours.

What spring compressors would you go with if you did it again?
 
I just did this today by myself with 2 jacks and jack stands. About 5 hours, with half of that on the first front trying to find every short cut I could to prevent from loosening the cam bolts. Once I gave in and loosened the cam bolts, I did the other front and rears in about 2 hours. The rears maybe 20-30 minutes each.

Immediately there's far less nose dive when braking and it feels much less "boaty." Subjectively, I think it rides and handles better but that could be placebo from pride in accomplishing the task.

My alignement isn't too out of whack, but it is, so handling will have to be evaluated better evaluated when I get it aligned.

I ended up with almost exactly 2" in the front and about 1.75" rear. I do have the TrekBoxx rear cargo deck which is 27 pounds of additional weight and Greenlane aluminum rock sliders.

This is going to be perfect for me since I'm adding a non-winch front bumper and I'm now towing a 12 foot trailer with a side by side.


This video is basically identical. Having 2 people probably would have prevented loosening the cam bolts but there was too much tension for me to muscle through myself.

Not the best photos, but showing the new stance plus towing my SxS today. Besides improved handling and less (to no) nose diving when breaking, it also tows better IMO.

It does those things better because it is stiffer. The only tradeoff is it's harsher on washboard, but I'll happily trade that for improved dynamics in other ways.

Drawback is your trading droop travel for lift height when going to longer springs with OEM shock lengths. IIRC there is about 4" (probably less) of droop on stock suspension so your trading about half or more of the droop travel at a 2" lift height. Only difference in theses springs with OEM shocks and a spacer lift is you don't have to worry about the shock bottoming out and blowing out the shock but both trade droop for lift height.

Things like potholes and decent corrugations can get extremely rough or anything offroad requiring more droop will now result in earlier tire lift and subsequently lead to more harsh weight transfer especially in a two opposite corner tire lift situation (vehicle will get tippy earlier and more violently than before). Very extreme on road cornering or maneuvers (rapid accident avoidance) could result in the tires opposite the turning direction from lifting off the road surface leading to earlier loss of braking effect and traction.

For me the only lift I would touch has confirmed extended travel shocks matched to the lift height so your not trading capabilities for looks and some minor ground clearance.
 
Had my LC on jack stands today for maintenance. Exactly 3" of droop in the front.

From another forum, not sure if I can link it here, but discussion about these springs/LC250,

"I did a fair bit of wheeling yesterday with the new springs and they really improve the front-end handling. The lazy lumbering back and forth of the stock front-end is gone. The truck is very stable and predictable. I was able to articulate the suspension over some large obstacles, and it handled very well. No rubbing with my 34s, no strange noises from the suspension. Nothing binding at the extreme ends of compression and extension. I also have a heavy winch installed so my front end is around 65lbs heavier than stock; the springs definitely help with that. I also have around 100lbs of extra weight on the rear end roof so all around this was a good purchase. I gained about 1.25" - 1.375" in height over stock. Definitely better than a spacer or preload lift. I estimate my ground clearance is north of 10.5". with the 34s and Alldogs springs. This was a very good purchase."
 
Had the All Dogs Offroad kit installed. Very happy with the results. Only pavement so far but rides very well.

Now that you have had the Alldogs on a while, how have they worked out? Do you prefer the ride to OEM?
