Strange.... Had 5K service today and on repair invoice it says color: Meteor shower. My color is Brown Sugar Metallic. I called dealer to have them update and they said that is not a color associated with my VIN. I sent them a copy of original window sticker. Not a big deal but, strange

Depending on model year, country it was produced for, Meteor Shower = Brown Sugar Metallic. The paint codes should be the same.

A similar thing goes for the Trail Dust colour- it was referred to as “Sand” on some early builds. Heritage Blue was also referred to as “Smoky Blue.” How a colour is referred to at port, at the factory and at the dealer in documentation can vary but paint codes should be constant.

Not as strange as Toyota having a dozen different names for the paint color that don't tell you anything about the actual color of the paint. Meteor Shower? Solar Octane? Ice Cap? Trail Dust? Mud Bath? Wind Chill Pearl? Cutting Edge? Underground? Everest? Heavy Metal? Ocean Gem? Celestite?

The 2025 4Runner lists nine colors and only three actually give you some idea of the color - Black, Supersonic Red, and Heritage Blue. I'd love to be sitting in on those markeing meetings. I think they probably had magic mushrooms before the meeting started. Geez.

And, yes, Brown Sugar Metallic and Meteor Shower are the same paint color. Seriously.

Isn’t it dusty bronze in Australia? They have the best color names down unda! Personally I think Ningaloo Blue sounds so much cooler than heritage blue…

Most folks in North America wouldn't know what the heck "Ningaloo" is...I didnt' until I googled it...and yeah, it makes perfect sense for Australian market.

But to OP's question...yeah, they're the same color. I believe in Canada it's still "Brown Sugar metallic"...I actually didn't know that any models were sold in the US with that color name though, but yours is a FE, so perhaps they changed it fairly quickly after they first came to market here.

Definitely anything that isn't a paint code is marketing speak. FYI I think "Trail Dust" and "Smoky Blue" are the two tone schemes. Trail Dust is Sand/Gray and Smoky Blue is Heritage/Gray.
