2025 Toyota 4Runner Review // Decisions, Decisions

I found that interesting too. I assume it was to get prospective buyers to like the look then pony up for additional accessories. I actually liked the TRD wheels, they might make a nice set to run winter tires on.
I'd bet that vehicle is owned by a dealer and not Toyota corporate. The installed tires and kayak mounts are not Toyota options/accessories either as far as I know. Toyota has been avoiding marketing TRD accessories for Land Cruisers.

This was one of the reasons I chose the LC over the Tacoma, which I had waited 2 years for. I little bit of the Goldie Lock's syndrome. We test drove the Hybrid Tundra, Tacoma and LC. Although we both loved the Tundra it was too big for an everyday driver. The Tacoma is a great truck but seriously lacks interior space. It felt confined in both front and back seats. The LC has great interior space, even sitting high/forward in the front seat (I've got short legs) I didn't feel like I was going to hit my head on the ceiling when I hit a bump. Plus, the back seats recline slightly. We both love the look, that's what drew my wife's attention to it in the first place.
Thanks for your review on it. I’m starting to see a few more of them here & there around the city. Small enough to handle city chores, big enough for road trips. With great visibility all round.

I’m surprised that some really don’t like the look. To me it’s an updated / upgraded FJ, having personality. Everything else at the auto show was everybody else’s 3 row crossover car. The LC to me feels like the one to choose (ok or the 4R too) if you’re a truck guy & want a truck but need something a little smaller than the Tundra. Even if every guy around here uses a full size truck as a daily.

Entirely probable, I’m sure you’re right. I didn’t take a pic of the 4R dash but it had a ‘prototype’ sticker on it. Should’ve grabbed a shot just for the uniqueness. So that one was corporate, but yes it’s usually dealers that put together this show. They listed accessories in the as displayed price, probably not surprising for a dealer to throw together.
