Your LC off-roading capacity

I just had mine properly offroad for 1st time and was impressed. I had to back down a steep rocky trail because the trees were creeping in and eyeing my paint. I backed down with crawl control (was curious) and it is not what i expected. It did the job better than i could with 2 feet, but it kept surging then slowing, but never too fast. ABS was going beserk, however wasnt very loud. Crawl control is new to me so perhaps all are like this?
Getting out of 4 lo with diffs locked literally took about a minute as well. need to study manual, i must have been doing something wrong.

Were you in Neutral with no load on the drivetrain when getting out of 4Lo and unlocking the differentials?

Yes i was stopped in neutral. The rear diff pixel was flashing as was the center diff icon. I had pressed both those buttons few minutes earlier to disengage as i needed to make 3 point turn on hard dirt backing off the hill. Since they weren't disengaging (was in neutral rolling slowly) i made the turns anyway then stopped, put in neutral, 4hi, and it would not shift xfer case. Drove forward 10ft and tried again and succeeded. Rear and center diff unlocked at that point as well. I backed down a steep hillside onto a perpendicular fireroad. Wasnt an ideal place to try and switch everything. Im used to a wrangler with torsens so just need to learn the quirks of all these electromechanical systems. Was likely operator error.
