What does the 5 beeps mean?

Not on a, LC, but yes, on our Highlander the seat sensors are extremely sensitive.
It's the rear seat check notification. Mine always does it when I have my kids in the back seat and after they get out and i hit lock, it does the 5 beeps.
I noticed this happened to me yesterday - did not have a clue what was happening. I left truck running to go back inside to grab something. So I am hearing it is because something was left in the back seat? If so, I would have never figured this one out!
Engine on or rear seat occupied warning, as far as I can tell. It's the general "your leaving the vehicle in a non-standard state" warning.
The beeps are literally the worst aspect of the vehicle. I'm currently staying in a small group of cabins, and I leave pre-dawn. All the beeping the vehicle does is embarrassing and rude. It's 5am and I should start the vehicle to charge my power bank. But I won't do it yet due to the beeping involved. So instead I'm posting here and waiting for it to get closer to dawn.

Yep. I broke out the manual after waking up my neighborhood. I turned down the volume on the lock / unlock beeps and the power back door buzzer.
The 5 beep blast rear seat reminder has nothing to do with an object being on the seat, it's tied to the opening of the rear doors - the only option there is to turn it off or to operate the doors in such a way that you avoid it.

Search is your friend. So is the Manual. This five beeps has been discussed ad nauseam on this forum and every other forum imaginable. It is for just about all Toyotas and Lexus. Not just the LC. Just saying.

So can it be turned off in vehicle settings?
I personally haven't found the magic setting anywhere, would be great if someone who knows where it is could provide. Yes, CT, I've read the manual, not every page, and there's no way to discover the answer to something/anything without the manual referencing at least three 'other' pages, which may or may not be relevant. The manual is horrendously poor, you'd think in 600 pages they'd get it right.

If you mean the rear seat reminder, yes you can turn it off. Manual page 656, the "O" in column B means you change the option via the multi-information display

Sorry to dig up on old post...but what I'd like to be able to get rid of are the beeps that occur after opening/closing ANY door or rear hatch while the vehicle is running (this is different than the rear seat reminder, which I've already turned off). Can't seem to figure out which setting it is in the manual...
Was packing up to go skiing early yesterday morning and probably annoyed more than a few of my neighbors while loading the car (which I have to pull from my garage into the driveway to have room to load my skis).
This drives me crazy too. Would love to find a way to turn off. I have the Carista device and app, and nothing offered for the hatch beep on that.
After doing a bit more research, apparently that's triggered because it detects the key fob is outside of the vehicle while it's running, and the solution might be to leave the key fob in the car while loading/unloading if you want to avoid it...haven't had a chance to test that yet.

I was just going to suggest leaving the key fob in the car.
5 beeps are the seat belt warning and you can confirm this by putting the seat belt on before you hit the start button, or better yet, putting it on after a beep or two and it stops immediately
The silly rear seat belt warning was killing me with my dog back there and the Carista app fixed that. Unfortunately it didn’t work when I disabled the seat belt warning for the drivers seat. Maybe the more expensive Carista will?
