2025 Land Cruiser

I've gone and brought it in to Toyota to get it checked, but they turned it back to me and said that there was no observed issue when it was there. They weren't even able to replicate it. They kind of believe me from the video's I've shown them, but no dice, they even said that by comparing to another LC they had on ground, it had the same amount of give and everything.

Well, my issue had always been when it rains, and miraculously the day I drove in to the dealership it was raining. The day they tried to do anything was not :cautious: And now, it is still doing its funky stuff of not pulling down properly, and I guess I will be known as someone who is just critical of any little issue. Good thing is I'll have another shot at convincing them when they will call me back in to replace my weatherstrips. I guess better luck next time?

Does anyone have any suggestions I might be able to try myself?

I had a couple of 80 series Landcruisers. I always told people the windows were the least reliable part on the whole car. It would help if I pulled up on the glass close to b-pillar. For my lc250 no issues and I’m at 46k on odometer. I would imagine they didn’t copy that fault- it never occurred on my 100 series. Is it both sides? Maybe a faulty part or not installed correctly.

Its on both side, and happily nothing wrong with the back windows. At this point, we really don't know whether it is a dirty channel or improper installment, as the technicians reported back as being no fault, so its really just a matter of showing them how its not working during a rainy day again. I might just crash the dealership without an appointment on the next rainy day

I haven't had this issue on my LC, however every so often I do get this issue on my 2020 Tacoma. I've also read some post in the Subaru folk's realm that have had this issue before.

What normally happen with Tacoma is that dust particles and such build up on the window and then when I go to roll it down the dust falls into the door panel where the window is. The dust particles or bits then sometimes get caught up in the pulley/rolling mechanism of the window which when going up/down the system will detect that and stop the window to I guess protect from damage occuring. Normally to fix it I just hose off the window and roll it up and down a couple times and drive it around and I want to assume it just jingles/cleans whatever was potentially cause the stuck action of the window. I do notice if I go off-road and it's more dusty/sandy the issue will occur if I don't clean the truck after messing with the windows.

Unfortunately, if this is happening during the rain and with water on the window I'm not sure what type of advice I could give as I've only really seen this occur in more dusty situation typically. The only thing I could suggest is ever so lightly help the window up/down if it is occuring to see if it maybe repeats/sets the window into place or maybe the mechanism that allows the window to go up/down just needs to recalibrate.

I did have this issue a couple times with my 1997 4Runner also, but that was attributed to me being bruteish when putting the door panels on/off to fix other issue ;). I can tell you that the 'hulk smash' method is never the best when putting old door trim/trim panels on ;). The fix ultimately was just cleaning some dust and stuff that feel into the door panel and all was good on this vehicle when I had it

This is seriously a somewhat pampered city car that gets to go through touchless carwash every 3 weeks or so, and I just got it straight from the dealership in February. It even gets to live in an underground heated garage a good chunk of its time. All this to say, its really just been on 1 weekend camping trip and 1 day trip to a river, and right after it went right to the car wash. :ROFLMAO:

I'll see what I can do with some manual cleaning of the window surrounding, but I do feel that there might be some recalibration that needs done, but the dealership just doesn't want to touch it unless they have concrete evidence to open it up.

But thanks for the suggestion!

Sounds like a we'll taken care of, better than mine that both sit outside and my truck always dusty, but it's also the dog's vehicle so it's always a mild mess lol ;).

I have heard on Subaru there some calibration functionality, Im not sure if Toyota have the same thing but I would think maybe there is something of the nature. Hopefully you're able to figure it out, would be curious if you do!
