2025 Landcruiser 1958 Trim
I am having a problem with the comfort of the drivers seat on my 2025 1958 trim. The seat has been very uncomfortable on 6 hour drives. Originally I noted that i could feel the connectors for the heated seats through the seat bottom. I also noted that the seat had little or no lumbar support. I have gone to a local auto upholsterer and had some thin foam placed in the seat bottom to pad the connectors. I have also had him install a lumbar support within the seat back - but I'm having a hard time getting that in the right position with the right shape and softness. Does anybody else have this problem?? Any suggestions?? Is there a seat bottom cushion and a seat back cushion that have worked for anybody?? Is the alternative to get aftermarket seatcovers -- either on top of the existing seats or as a replacement for the existing cloth seats -- that are more comfortable.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions -- I liked the simplicity of the 1958 but I never even thought to verify that the seats were comfortable to me.

I have a similar problem with the seats in my 2024 Land Cruiser First Edition.

Using the Land Cruiser for daily short trips, the front seats are very comfortable; however, after driving 1.5 to 2 hours, myself (driver's seat) and my wife (front passenger seat), our buttocks are sore. We have no anatomical problems. Both of us have the same feeling of discomfort. I don't believe any type of adjustment(s) to the seats will help resolve the uncomfortable seat situation.

In our decades of owning many vehicles--and driving hundreds of miles in a day--and well over triple the road distances of what we drove in the Land Cruiser--we've never experienced this feeling of discomfort.

I just received a seat cushion from WeatherTech; however, I haven't had an opportunity to evaluate it on a long trip. I have another seat cushion on its way from NezAuto to see how it compares to the WeatherTech.

The plan is for me to use one of the cushions--and my wife use the other during our next long trip. We'll repeat the same trip we recently did, determine our results during the outbound trip, then switch both seat cushions with each other for the return trip home, and evaluate the results.

I am 6’1” and the lumbar support in my LCLC definitely hits me high above real lumbar. It’s lower mid back not low back. Doesn’t matter if it’s almost straight up or reclined. Besides that, I think seats are awesome, but when I am having a bad back day, having that support/pressure on low back would make a huge difference. My wife’s car (some little Mercedes crossover that I feel like rides on the ground and I basically hate the seats ) and everything else with lumbar support, seem to hit my lower back.

I have used ordinary kitchen chair memory foam cushions for years and they have suited me well. The best thing is should one get damaged discolored etc...... just about any "big box" store sells them for cheap.

I'm not tall but also have occasional lower lumbar issues, the kitchen cushions work well for that as well. Sometimes I fold one in half and it sort of molds to support all the right places. When not needed it's tossed on the rear seat.

Did a 10-hour drive last weekend and I was happy with seat comfort. By the last hour my back was starting to get a little sore, but probably to be expected in any seat.

I second @LunarCruiser suggestion:
