TL;DR; All new model year Toyota Tundra trucks will get a bigger fuel tank standard: 22.5 -> 32.2 (+48%). So, maybe there is a bit of hope that they'll make a bigger tank for our LCs that we'll be able to just bolt on ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿคž

Doubtful. The 32.2 gallon was always an option for the Tundra and they simply discontinued the smaller. My buddy has it on his 2024 Tundra and goes 600+ miles between fills.

EDIT: In fact, it was is part of a fairly standard upgrade package and not even exclusive to higher trims.

Not trying to be a downer but (AFAIK) a new Toyota aftermarket part like this would have to be crash tested in a LC250 to prove the new tank's structural integrity. If not tested, then Toyota would have a lot of potential product liability.

My son helped me out one day and I offered to fill his tank out of appreciation. Little did I know that his tank was almost empty and then I found out he had a thirty gallon tank. It was over $100, I had a little sticker shock

I am hopeful that Toyota will in a future model. The rep I spoke to did say he has passed my concerns onto the engineer team as it is part of the process.

I am currently researching this, but as far as I understand, it does not matter if you have a Prado in The States, AU, or Canada the undercarriage is the same with a few tweaks here and there.

Toyota already makes an 80L OEM tank for both Petrol & diesel models. Some markets also have an optional 30L reserve tank that they can add giving them up to 110L of fuel.

So it is not necessarily out of the question, 80L mains & 30L reserves are already being made by Toyota & fitted to the Pradoโ€”the American Toyota team just has to figure their shit TF out. So reach out to your Toyota rep, have your mother, your daughter and everyone else call and complain about their stupid decision.

I traded in my truck and 32 gallon tank and 600 mile range + to the LC250 and 250 mile range. If they make an aftermarket one I will definately get one for the LC.
