So far the only thing I dislike about my 2024 is the sun visor when using it for the side window.
That piece of plastic that slides out doesn’t do squat! Lol!
Anyone have any solutions for that?

@subpow, I agree, the 250 sun visor on my FE is a real let down. My 100-series had the best set up (two driver's visors for front and side coverage, with the main visor having a true, full-length extension to cover the entire side window when needed. Hopefully, an after market manufacturer will come to the rescue, but this is one of those items where I wish Toyota had not been so darn cheap (and ineffective). Every time I reach for the visor to get side sun protection, It triggers everything that I find cheap on this $76,000 car!

I can't believe this is still an issue! Ha. The visor slide out has had the ineffective small plastic slide-out in Gen 5 4runner for the entire run. It drives me crazy, in my wife's 4runner, as it lets through side sun directly onto my face since the little slide-out leaves a several inch gap above it. When we started to consider a Land Cruiser, it has the same ineffective 2010 visor design. Every other vehicle we've had, including my 2013 Tundra, the entire visor slid on the shaft so you could easily extend the entire visor to block the sun from the side. Not a deal breaker, but what a missed opportunity for Toyota to get rid of this design from 2010. If the entire visor extended, it would be just fine, but the slim plastic slide out lets through the sun. Will have to make a sleeve to go over the entire end of the visor that can pull out as an extension.

This drives me nuts when I move from driving our Grand Highlander to our Land Cruiser. I wonder if a person could install the visors from the Grand Highlander in the Land Cruiser.

It seems comical that Toyota does not have the sun visor thing figured out. It’s also comical that they design a new sun visor for every vehicle.

They could literally spend a ton of cash to design the very best sun visor in the auto industry, then just put that design in every Toyota vehicle.

Compared them today, the mounting looked to be interchangeable, but the GH visors were almost 2" shorter.

Anyone know what the visors look like in the Tundra, Sequoia, or 4g Tacoma?

It really is a joke. Made an account just to try to bring more attention to this. If anyone finds a solution, I'd be very interested.

It's so lame it's unbelievable. My Tundra's sun visor was big, and the whole piece slid out/over if needed. They must have thought the retro thing would be cool. It's not.

I know this isn’t an option for a lot of folks who don’t want to risk it because it’s illegal in most states, but I have a 15% tint on all my windows and sun isn’t really a problem. Just putting it out there.

The GX550 has sliding visors and higher quality material. I guess it would be plug and play with the mirror and roof mounted light. Probably the best solution if someone wants to try it.

this should be the drivers side for the Lexus Gx550 Overtrail: Part Number:74320-60M10-C0

200 smackers for a visor........ that must be some visor!

I've heard the grand highlander has something similar and are usually cheaper.

For anyone considering this, got a look at the Lexus visors, they are fabric. Whereas the LC are plastic/vinyl. The Lexus visor seems like it would go with the LC headliner material.

GH won't work, its about 2" shorter than the LC.
