I recently had an issue with one of our keys and replaced the battery and everything was fine until now. My wife drove the truck this morning and two messages came up. First the car couldn't detect the key and she had to put the key near the starter button. And then a message came up saying the hybris system wasn't working. Has anyone else experienced these problems. I will be taking the truck to the dealer.

Did she place the key on top of the wireless phone charger? That seems to screw up the key and results in the symptom you describe. Solution is to remove and reinstall FOB battery and to find a different resting place for it in the future.

Thanks for your reply. I finally took to the dealer and brought both keys. The problem is that the Toyota smart key is more sensitive than my Audi smart keys. It was having problems with all the stuff in her purse ( never had the problem with her Audi S5). So now we know. On another subject, I had to go to YouTube to find out how to completely shut off the DMC( driver moniter camera). That thing is horrible. Now we're back to loving the truck.

On another note, we're both in our 70's and we've had a lot of fast cars. Porshes, Audis, Mercedes, you name it. It's really nice to have a car(truck) that's just a pleasure to drive and can be driven anywhere without worrying about denting wheels, bottoming out, and being able to haul anything we could ever need. And then throw in the Toyota dependability. Total WIN. I still own a '24 Audi S5 and wish they would put the I Max drivetrain in the Crown Signia.
My car wouldnt start after filling tank. Kept saying key not detected. I moved key fob away from small flat area next to phone charger and car finally started. But, it said key not detected again. Pulled battery out of remote and put back together. Car has been happy since. Not fun when it happens 1500 miles away from home.
This happened again at next fill-up. The only way i could get it to start was to use the App to remote start the vehicle, then i could successfully drive off. I checked the battery voltage of fob and it's 3.078 volts, so not a low fob battery. Any ideas?
If your Land Cruiser has the wireless charging pad and the fob gets inadvertently placed on that pad, I read that damage can potentially occur to the fob in multiple online sources. Whether that is factual or not I can’t say- I did it once, but thankfully the fob was in a Faraday pouch. I experienced no ill effects.
You could have the dealer check your fob(s), delete and reprogram them to the vehicle. You might even be able to DIY with the right software and OBDII interface.

Thank you, that might have of happened. I had key on the flat space next to the charging pad (where the sticker with all the warning symbols is...). While we were driving back to alabama from utah over 3 days, the key didnt work several times at gas stations after filling up, but today (arrived home last night) it has worked fine. I put a new battery in it anyway.
On another note, I stopped turning off the car at fill-ups on last day, nothing negative seemed to happen, no warnings. Towing camper so we could only go 200 miles on a tank, lots of gas stops.
If that was a factor and the fob is truly messed up (time will tell), a competent locksmith might be able to do what the dealership can for le$$.
