Stereo Quality?

Serious question, has anyone (forum member) actually gotten one yet? I saw like one person has one on Reddit and not much beyond that

Not that I've seen. Just a FB user and reddit

Any day now there should be some members with a new ride to brag about!

I think i am going to be disappointed with either Sound system as I am trading in a Lexus with a Mark Levinson

You and me both! I just got rid of my GX with the Levinson sound system and upgraded sub!
Gotta thump my Snoop!

Agree. My past RAV4s with “premium” JBL systems and subwoofer were not that impressive.
I had a forerunner Trd Pro with the premium Sound system. I traded that in for the Lexus with the Mark Levinson, and there was a world of difference.

Got mine yesterday in Dubai 👍GLX. Sound system is good for my needs

Came from a GX with the Mark Levinson, so I am less than impressed with the stereo in the mid trim.

Can’t wait for people to start upgrading and telling me what I need to do! 🤣

The system in the 1958 is quite terrible, the high end speakers in the dash are tinny and the door speakers boomy/muffled sounding. This is comparing to the Bang & Olufsen from my Audi, which maybe isn’t a realistic comparison. But I’m happy with the simplicity of the 1958 overall, will just do some upgrades to the sound system at some point.

1958, great for me, I just fade the speakers to the front

The JBL in the premium is not that impressive to my ears. The system maxes out way to quickly, partial fading to rear causes a good amount of sound to be lost.

What I feel is missing is amp power. Not sure if the speakers themselves are good. I am connecting to the system with Apple Play via Bluetooth. I have never found these type of connections to be the best. I would prefer to direct connect via USB C but not sure if that will allow Apple Play to work.

I am considering adding an amp but not sure how easily that is to do.

I'm usually on the phone when I'm driving and if not, a little piece and quite is always appreciated. How do you expect the subtle wind noise from the mirrors and the sound of the tires at slower speeds to he heard so I can get on the forum and empathize with everyone torn up about how noisy their LC is? A good sounding stereo would ruin it for me, plus I'd never return any of my messages

My impression of the sound system in my 1958 is that it can be really quite impressive with the right audio source and music type. It sounds better in the front row thanks to the higher frequency speakers in the dash. The door speakers have good bass that fills the whole cabin. Classical music that doesn’t haven’t a lot of bass leaves something to be desired. No rattles whatsoever, even at higher volume, which is nice.

I’d start with a search on the audio system and upgrades. Depending on your expectations, you can spend a lot of time and money. Toyota/JBL made some funky choices designing the stock system and I wasted time and money trying to “upgrade” it by trying various fixes outlined in this forum . DSP Amps are in my view part of the answer (NOT Beatsonic as it is just a band aid unless you keep the speakers stock) and you will need a PAC interface if you want to maintain all the stock head unit functionality. That will lead you to speaker upgrades, powered sub woofer, and sound deadening all around. I did a complete upgrade on my LC but it was worth the money/effort when it was done and done correctly.

Thanks. I was afraid it would take more than an amp upgrade. Sounds like too much for me to tackle.

I just went down this path and it's definitely more than just an amp upgrade. Ultimately, it depends on what you want to get out of it.
