Hi all -

About to pull the trigger on an overland fridge for the LC. Considering the Dometic CFX2 37 or the ICECO 37qt VL35ProS. Anyone have experiences with either of them, or even just the CFX2 vs the VL lines?

I know the Dometic has app control and the ICECO doesn’t. Just any other pro/cons?

I’ll be running these off a Jackery 2000v2 plugged into the inverter for pass through charging. I’ve also got a coupon for both so cost will be in the same price range.

I've been using ICECO since 2018 and absolutely love their products. They have the same durable compressor as Dometics, but lower cost.

I've left these open to heavy salt spray, I've kept them locked up on the hot summer beach days and no auto shut downs, this thing just works

After my 4runner was stolen with my last fridge, an ICECO was one of the first replacements I bought

Engel has been a great Frig/Freezer for over 20 plus years. You might check them out.

Both have a good reputation as far as I know. I've had a Dometic CFX 35 for about 5 years and it won't die (I'd like it to die so I can buy a new one and upgrade for some of the new features but it lives on).

The orientation of the door opening is different on these two models you've listed, and that alone may be a deciding factor depending on which one makes more sense for your needs.

I have an ICECO as well and absolutely love it. They make a solid product. I have it running off of a 700 Goal Zero that is plugged into the LC’s inverter. I can keep it running for 4-5 days before needing to charge from the car.

I got a Iceco jp40 (with a cover which came handy during a dust storm and the sand by the river ).

I was worried if it could pack enough food. It's the size of an average cooler with some of that space taken by its compressor.

I took it on a 4 day trip with 5 people this past weekend. It fed everyone breakfast lunch and dinner the whole time. We packed fajitas. Chicken. Eggs. Bacon. Vegetable mixes. Milk. Cheese. Cold cuts and hot dogs . Guacamole. Sour cream, butter, and more shit. There were still leftovers after the trip and my dogs were very happy with that leftover situation.
It was plugged in to the LC inverter when driving and when not it was plugged into a jackery 550 dc cigarette plug that kept it going overnight. At 12 hours of the jackery DC inverter use I was still at 50% charge.
I never ran it on the jackery AC plug but I'm sure that wouldn't be as efficient as the DC.

Clutch.
