Hello all,

I am new to the forum (though I have been lurking for a while). We haven't taken possession of a new Land Cruiser yet- it has been a learning experience.

I have driven a few Toyotas over the years, have worked on a few as well but have never owned one personally. I have been driving capable 4 wheel drive and all wheel drive vehicles for the last 24 years, and when circumstances had me vehicle shopping before I thought I would be, I was primarily looking for a new or late model Toyota based on personal ownership experiences of friends and coworkers. While Land Cruisers are pretty rare sightings on the road in my parts, I did spot a few and research began. I was weighing the Land Cruiser against the new current and previous generations of 4Runner.

One of the things I have learned is that this vehicle can be tough to get your hands on. We have been trying to find a Land Cruiser Premium since March- I know, a small amount of time compared to people who tried to get one throughout last year. They seem to be trickling into local dealerships and are often already sold before they arrive.

After committing to a nearby dealership I got a call this afternoon that the wait may be over soon, and was able to head to the dealership and do a walk around prior to them doing the PDI. I hope to stick around, and make extensive use of the forum's search function to tap into the collective wisdom of members here. I know I'll have questions, and will do my best not to make them stupid ones ;)

Welcome to the Jungle!
Thank you- being a guy that has a hard time leaving electrical stuff alone in a vehicle, I have gone through some of your content. While there is a great chance I'll never take things as far as you have on your build in terms of mods, it is good to know what has been done/what can be done should particular wants & needs arise.
