2025 LC 250, 1990 HDJ81
My name is Jeff Cooper. My wife and I snowbird between Oracle, Arizona and Fairbanks, Alaska.
We just recently took delivery of her 2025 LC 250. She absolutely loves it!
I drive a 1990 JDM HDJ81 Land Cruiser. It is not nearly as modern as the 250! 🤣
We love to travel and often tow a 16’ Airstream Basecamp X. Anyone who has any pointers for towing with the 250, please share. I am seriously considering installing an auxiliary transmission oil cooler since we live in Arizona and travel throughout the mountainous west.
Thanks for your time!

Welcome Jeff! The only thing better than a Land Cruiser is two Land Cruisers!
Sounds like you have done some off roading in the past. Is there a favorite adventure you are looking forward to doing in the new LC?

Thanks for the welcome!
We really like to explore. In the first 2 years of owning the 80 series, we drove it in 42 states and 5 provinces of Canada. We’ve been to the top of Canada to Tuktoyuktuk, all over Alaska, and pretty much everywhere else except the upper plains/Great Lakes. That is on the calendar for next year.
This year we’ll take the new LC to Wyoming and back and we’ll be sure to explore Wyoming, Utah, and Arizona

If you don't already own one, I'd suggest you get a "Jumper Box". If the 12v battery get's below 10ish volts, the computers won't fire up and the Hybrid system will not start the vehicle, it'll be a dead duck.

I actually installed a 12v solar charger under my roof rack and haven't had issues since.

I assume you have to upgrade the stock battery for your setup?

Yes, the stock battery would go flat with several hours of just the rear hatch open. I put in the Optima and it too would draw down but not to the point of not starting, that's when I put in the solar charger and haven't had an issue since.
