I’ve been reading this thread to better familiarize myself with the 1958. After doing a considerable amount of research, I’ve decided to purchase a 1958 in the near future.

I’ve owned a Jeep Rubicon for the past 10 years and I’m ready for something new. I’m not a Bronco fan. Thought about a Gladiator but circled back to the tried and true LC. I also like the towing capabilities of the LC vs the Bronco or Jeep.

I’m still trying to decide between ice cap and meteor shower. Classic white is hard to beat. I’ve never been a fan of silver but the meteor shower looks interesting on photos. It appears to have beige undertones. I haven’t been able to see the MS in person yet. Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated. I would also be interested in pricing. How much below MSRP is considered a good deal?

For us, it was a toss-up between white (Wind Chill Pearl) and Meteor Shower, and went for the WCP with a Java interior. My logic, better for sunny/hot areas, where we will be exploring the back-country.

Welcome. I am an Ice Cap owner but if you like silver/gray- the MS is pretty cool.

I test-drove the Meteor Shower and thought it was really beautiful! I really like the fact that the color changes depending on the lighting, from a straight gray to more of a greige -- adds interest. Seeing it in person had me second-guessing really hard about my preference for the Trail Dust/Grayscape color, although I did ultimately go with the Trail Dust.

I have a bias against white cars since there are way too many white cars around here in the SF Bay Area where I live.

Maybe there's another forum member on here from Austin with one in Meteor Shower that would be willing to meet up with you so you can see it in person?

I can't comment on the pricing of the 1958 as I have the LC model and also bought last year at a time when most dealers in my area were still adding markups, so MSRP was the best I could do.

Thank you! I’m learning more towards the MS. We currently own three white vehicles. I still need to see the MS in person to confirm my decision.
