2025 Land Cruiser
Greetings,

I am a proud new owner of the 2025 Land Cruiser. I initially went in to purchase the new 4runner. While there I test drove the new Land Cruiser as well and found that ride quality was just way better (less road feel). Plus the new 4runner had more of a sporty look, and now that Im 41 yo I feel like getting into something that has a more "status" vibe, suited me best. I am moving to San Diego and will be doing real estate there, so maybe this will help with sales... probably not. Living the drive, tech, feel of this car. Only modification looking into doing at the moment is upgrading the tires to a more aggressive all terrain without rubbing. Any advice welcomed. Thank you for having me everyone. Look forward to absorbing the knowledge here.

-Pat

Welcome and beautiful spec, Pat!

FYI, I just put a set of BF Goodrich KO3 All Terrains on my '25 1958 Edition. I've put about 500 street miles on them so far and I can't tell the difference in ride between them and the OEM tires I replaced. I put them on since I'll soon be doing some off-roading and they're just aggressive enough to do well on that type of surface. Because of the look you're trying to achieve I highly recommend BFG KO3's. They're aggressive but not too aggressive looking.

Good luck!

Welcome to the forum (y)

Your Land Cruiser looks great. I am currently in the same boat, wanting some more aggressive tread for ours. I am torn between various OEM Toyota wheels in 18" vs throwing some 20" All Terrains on the Premium alloys.

Those look great- mind elaborating on what size you went with and whether you added the same tire for your spare?

Noted. That is exactly the look Im trying to achieve. Sweet rig!

Thanks! Sure. I went with a wider 265/70/18. I didn't want to do any mods to accommodate anything wider or taller. I think they're a good compromise that will serve me well on and off-road. Correct me if I'm wrong but I couldn't do anything larger with the 18" wheels that come with a 1958. Also, and I think you'll appreciate this being from the Great White North, the BFG KO3's have a very good snow/ice rating as well as off-road cred.

Keep us posted on this thread if you don't mind! I'd like to hear what you end up with.

Forgot to add: YES - I added a the same tire as my spare. I listed the original tires in another thread for sale. Not sure what kind of interest I'll receive. I'm crossing my fingers. As a matter of fact, if I get a good response to the tire sale listing I'll consider posting the OEM roof rack and side steps too. Now that I've had my 1958 for about 7 months my eyes have been opened to the wonderful world of aftermarket parts!

I had K02’s on my Jeep and loved them. Some of the wet weather criticisms people had to say about them were not my experience with the previous version of your tires. The K02s were awesome in snow (tracked fine with snow deep enough that my bumper became a plow), better than stock in rain and exceptional in dry conditions, but mine were narrow tires in factory size.

It is just a matter of whether I can find a set of 18” take off wheels, or do something in 20” for my existing wheels. Either way I’ll get five. Thanks for the info on your tire choice. I’m leaning towards one size up from stock, intending to retain factory ride height while under warranty. I love our new Land Cruiser, with the main disappointment being the OEM tires. I know, they were equipped that way for fuel economy but I don’t want to have to depend on the stock tires for winter.

Good luck with selling your tires- they might appeal to someone who has had an incident (or two) and wants some spares.

I spoke with a coworker who punctured two of his OEM tires off roading, and finding a tire or five as back-ups will likely be cheaper than replacing all at once for an owner who probably doesn’t need anything more aggressive than stock 99% of the time.

I’d argue that an owner that has already had two punctures while off-roading is exactly the person who most “needs” an upgrade from OEM.

And I would agree with you.

Sometimes human nature is puzzling. If I had a dollar for every time I came across someone in a predicament that could have been avoided, I’d be riding on new tires as we speak 😆

Welcome! Nice rig! I put Falken Wildpeaks AT 4ws on mine 265/70r18. Could go up to 285 without trimming. They're awesome
