How do I return to the main menu when my screen is displaying my phone stuff?

if you are in CarPlay you go to the Toyota app in car play, which takes you back to the main screen.

I’m some of the press photos for the car it showed the left navigation buttons as persistent. I wish that was the case in the final version.
