LC 250 Running Board Question

I have a 1958 that did not come with running boards. I recently purchased some “mid-level” running boards and installed. I see that there is a place to power them for what I assume is a light when you open the back door. Is there a way to power, or is it not worth the hassle/cost?

The plug should be there to power them, it's probably just tuck up and taped so it may not be obvious. I don't have install directions but if you search the forums you might find them and they might mention this.

The PDF is for "Rock Rails" but it shows how to secure the running board pig tails.
