Hello. im trying to buy a Land Cruiser 2005 from marketpalace, the seller sent me some videos which i am concerned about the noise coming from the engine. Im afraid it might be bad head gasket. I can share the videos to see what you guys think? maybe im overthinking?

I'm not sure why anyone would buy a 20 year-old vehicle without having a professional vehicle inspection performed. The cost of the inspection will almost ALWAYS yield a payback in terms of avoiding costly repairs, or reducing the sale price.

A bad head gasket doesn't make a sound. But, it's fairly easy to check for one (contaminated oil or a nitrile glove on the radiator). If you have concerns, then I'd take it to a mechanic. At a minimum, I'd have them change the oil (check the oil filter for metal/glitter), get an oil analysis, and do a complete inspection. It'll cost you a few dollars (~$500?), but it's well worth the time and $ if this is a vehicle you want to own and keep long term.

Hello! Thank you for the reply. It’s because the car is in another city. I’m flying there and driving it back and that’s why.
