Good morning,

When Toyota parts had their 25% off sale I purchased a set of door edge guard trim pieces. Combined with the dealer discount I believe I got them for about 50% of the MSRP. Does anyone have the TIS sheet on installing them? While it appears they just press on, when I tried this weekend it became very tricky and I decided to stop and check with the forum for any information or tips.

I can't believe that nobody responded to this post. I just picked my DEG from the parts dept at my local dealership. No instructions, no templates, just the guards. Anyone install those on your LC? Dealer asked if I wanted to schedule an install with them.....at their labor rates? Forget it.

I believe those are just strips of paint protection film, right? Normally you install PPF wet, but that seems like it might be tricky with those thin strips.
Look for videos on youtube for installing PPF. I'm sure you'll find some for DEGs specifically. It's not difficult and kinda fun, but I'm not sure of the details for those.

I ordered the paint matched metal ones. As an update, I just finished matching them one by one to the door contours and tapped them in with a rubber mallet. They look good. Toyota makes it seem like there is so much more to do.

It's pretty easy to install. There's a driver door and passenger door. Press it on first. Then I used a rubber mallet to start in the center then work your way top to bottom. I have Wind Chill Pearl.

That's exactly how they do it.......... line them up tap, tap, tap, stand by and admire your work........LOL

Thanks! I think part of my problem was that I was trying to install them in the dead of winter. Everything, including my fingers, was ice cold. I put them aside for the winter and going to install them when I return from a trip.
