Hybrid battery disconnection for tack welding near/on frame...

Haven’t done it but there is a Hybrid battery disconnect at the batteries. It’s part of the vehicle crash procedure in TIS un fortunately I didn’t download a copy of it but it didn’t look too difficult.

I wouldn’t be too concerned with welding on the frame with either battery connected though. Just keep your ground lead close to your work the current will only take the shortest path (least resistance) from the ground lead to the weld.
 
My professional welding buddy disagrees with you on the disconnection, but I appreciate you responding!
 
I think he's worried about it, purely from a it's very expensive to replace line of thinking.
