The wheel wells are different sizes between FE, LC, 1958
Almost all of the discussions and charts of "What wheel/tire size fits" on this site for the past year have missed this important information.
Mine is a 1958 with stock suspension on 285/75/17 + 20 offset. It has plenty of clearance--no rubbing at all.

Just the black plastic cladding over the wheels is a different thickness, right? I assume so the stock wheels on the LC trim do not risk poking even though they are a half inch wider. I don't think the wheel wells or the suspension components or anything inside the fender have different dimensions other than the wheels themselves. The LC and FE have all the same dimensions inside and out.

Yes I have this exact setup. No rubbing and no removal of anything necessary.
Not going to say they are different, but all the sheet metal is the same and aside from the Swaybar Disconnect, the only difference in the trims are wheel/tire sizes.
AFAIK they are all the same sized wheel wells. The only difference is the thickness of the wheel well fender trim.
