Hi Folks,

Been lurking here for a few months and soaking up info. I just bought a 2026 1958 and had a few things installed, some for my own vanity, others to make it better to tackle the rough roads and beaches of Baja California Sur where I go to on occasion.

I had an ‘09 FJ Cruiser down south which I sold after many years of enjoyment and so when I heard that the LC250 had arrived in the US, I was waiting for my chance to get one.

My old FJ (on a beach near La Paz, BCS, Mexico) which I sold to my mechanic there.

I love the round headlights of the 1958 and the cloth upholstery but wanted to add some FE style touches so I had a new grille and the front and rear bumper guards from the LC trim installed. The roof rack came installed with the vehicle.

Added in front and rear recovery points from NYTOP, aluminum skid plate set from NYTOP, OEM style running boards from a supplier on EBay, ceramic tint all around. Immediately replaced the stock Geolanders with Nitto Terra Grapplers 275/70/18 SL load. Fantastic tires.

Bought the car from Norm Reeves in San Diego, and I have to say it was the easiest purchase experience ever.

Next up will be mounting a set of recovery boards and a starlink mini atop the rack.

Finally, I had the OTT Tune done by JC at Central Coast Tuning a couple days after I had it delivered from San Diego. Just amazing how the tune transformed the engine.

Would love to meet local Bay Area enthusiasts in person sometime. Hit me up!

No off-the-beaten path photos yet so city pictures will have to suffice.

Welcome to the forum! We were debating white, but reasoned Meteor Shower might blend better with the desert we frequent. Danged USAF might mistake us for a target, as we like to roam the Nellis AFB range.

Question, how does an OTT Tune affect one's warranty?

Thanks for the welcome! Sounds like you made the right choice in color, haha. I look forward to taking mine out to the desert. I wanted white and searched high and low throughout California for a 1958 that hadn’t been modified with leather seats - finally found one in SD.

I was told by the tuner (and it’s also on their website FAQ) that they haven’t had any issues with warranties being affected. I have a ‘25 which I’m giving to my brother which also has the tune and the dealer hasn’t brought it up when I’ve taken it in.

In any case, since it’s a reversible ECU modification, in a worst case scenario it is easily reversible, I’m told.

Pictured here receiving the tune via the tuner’s laptop. I was so impressed with the tune that I had to get it ASAP.

These look so good in white. I did the same tune and would highly recommend it.

Welcome and congrats on the purchase of your new Rig.

Looks fantastic. Congrats and welcome to the forum! Love that you went for tint as one of the first mods too--it's the very first I do to just about any car I own.

Thanks! I had my local tint shop install the top of the line Llumar, almost clear 80% for the windshield and 50% everywhere else even over the factory dyed glass in the rears. I want to be seen by law enforcement but keep it cool.

The tune is fantastic indeed. To be clear, my 2026 vs the 2025, had crisper shifts but the tune just opened up the engine.
