2025 Land Cruiser
I picked up my Certified Pre-Owned 2025 Land Cruiser a couple of weeks ago and have been loving every minute of it. My previous vehicle was a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Sahara (which my daughter is now happily driving), and the difference in ride quality is night and day. The LC is incredibly smooth, and the premium package is loaded with fantastic features. I created a cheat sheet for all the dash acronyms just to keep track of what I was turning on and off. The horn is surprisingly tame—it definitely reminds me of my daughter's old VW Beetle! LOL! For those of you in snowy climates, how do the stock tires perform in the winter? I'm hoping they'll be sufficient for at least the first season. I am also excited to explore some different travel trailers that I can pull with the LC. Looking forward to being part of this group!

Welcome to the forum 👍🏼

The Land Cruiser looks great. We missed out on one in Wind Chill Pearl, came to the dealership at opening with the intention of doing a deal on it only to find out it had sold end of day the night before.

As for the tires, I’d say “that depends.” Temperature, depth of snow, the road surfaces all add up to a different driving experience. Ours is sitting on the OEM Yokohamas, and I plan on getting some proper All Terrains before end of fall- either on 18” rims if the right set comes along, or on the factory 20”s if it doesn’t.

Where I am, we aren’t guaranteed to see snow every winter but when it does we can see a pretty good stretch of the white stuff. My Wrangler Rubicon came with BFG KM Mud Terrains from the factory, and they were better than expected in deep snow but did not inspire confidence in slush or ice. I ran them out until they were loud enough that I couldn’t take it anymore, and I eventually swapped those out with K02 All Terrains which were pretty awesome across four seasons. For the Land Cruiser I am leaning towards Toyo or Falken All Terrains to use year round.

Thank you for all of this information about the tires. I have heard great things about the K02’s but have never had them. Keep me posted on what you decide on for the LC between the Toyo and Falken’s. Would love to hear how the LC does in the snow with them. Have a great day! :)

Welcome to the asylum.

Since Michelin Defenders are not 3PMSF rated, I think my next set of tires will be Bridgestone Dueler Ascent AT, which are 3PMSF rated.

But, nothing beats Michelin ICE or Bridgestone Blizzaks.

I'm an hour's drive east of you in Glencoe! Congrats on the new LC. I replaced my horn with a much more appropriate one (as have many others). the whole thing took only 15 minutes, incredibly simple upgrade. Enjoy!
