Hi all, my name is Mark. I just bought my new LC from Edmark Toyota in Boise and drove it all the way home to Bainbridge Island in Washington State.

I was originally planning on getting a 4Runner, but I love the design on the LC and couldn't resist. However, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by the sheer volume of notification and safety sounds. Yikes! Took it thru the car wash yesterday and I think every alarm in the truck went off! I'm coming from a Tesla Y and kind of expected a much easier transition to the vehicle. Everything just worked perfectly for me on the Tesla and was incredibly intuitive. I'm spending a lot of time reading the user manual on this one and things are buried super deep in the menus, which all seem have endless lists of acronyms. I feel like I need a special decoder ring just to know what's what.

Anyway, above else I would love to know if there's a way to disable the Toyota welcome message on the main screen!

I turned off all the nannies except lane departure warning. Love the LC but could not live with such intrusive tech. Unfortunately some of it (like the driver attention monitor) will still be alive latently, but you can disable about 90% of the nonsense.

I have no problems going through the car wash but i have the following turned off at all times (because I use a bike rack regularly)

  • Intuitive parking assist (In the settings)
  • parking support brake (physical button to left of steering wheel)

Don't forget to fold in the mirrors and you should be good to go!

Welcome to the Forum as well, you can turn off a fair amount of the pop-ups in settings.

Iโ€™m originally from Seattle and had several friends on Bainbridge Island. Great place, the Professor from Gilliganโ€™s Island even lived there for many years which I always thought was ironic โ€ฆ
