Due to airline problems, I made a lost-minute all night drive from Louisiana to Virginia. Completely unplanned. I now find myself with 3-4 days to make it back South but left all of my camping/recovery gear at home. Looking at a number of trails around SW tip of Virginia/ Bristol Damascus area. Upgrades to my LC are full skids and 34 inch KO2s.

Any tips for hitting the trails without gear other than “don’t go” would be appreciated. Or some good trails in SW Virginia mid-level difficulty which I should be able to manage.

My advice is the same whether you have recovery gear or not.

Be realistic about your skill level, be smart enough to turn around and never traverse any trail without a support plan should things go south ...... ie how/who are you going to call for help.

For example, tho" I've never been to Utah, Matt's off-road recovery, Trailmater or Robbie Layton.
