Just finished wiring up some lux lighting mini rock lights (magnetic mount) to replace the OEM step light for when my sliders arrive.
Using the OEM step light installed wiring results in very dim lights due to Toyota using a variable positive on the ground leg.
I wired these lights to the dome light circuit Yellow Positive and White Negative wires (Positive 12v when off ground when on).
They turn on with approach and door open, as well as fade on and off. Only difference from OEM is they will also turn on if you turn on the dome light switch.
