2025 LC250, 1980 Fj40, 1978 FJ40, 1995 FZJ80,
A couple years ago I bought a new Tundra. A few months later, Toyota announced the 250 Land Cruiser. I wanted one from the start, but had just bought the Tundra and did at the time need a big truck. But I remember thinking, "man if I had known about the Land Cruiser, I would not have purchased this new Tundra". Fast forward two years and finally bit the bullet and sold the Tundra to get this.

I've been a Land Cruiser guy for most of my driving life. Have two 40's, an 80, and now this. Here is the new one next to grampa:

The orange one is currently stripped completely, in prep for a full nut/bolt restoration (I did the blue one above a few years back). But I've had this orange one since 1999...it was my first cruiser purchase.

Anyway, as for the 250, not sure on plans yet. It will be my daily, but I also want it somewhat capable off road. I'm a mild off roader...I like to have some fun, but never anything too crazy. Which is probably good since I am in Houston and not much around here as far as that goes lol. But will put some better tires on, and like most, I do not like the 20" wheels. Fortunately, the dealer discounted the price of the wheels since I didn't want them, which was nice of them. I still have to replace them, but at least I didn't pay the $1500 price tag for the upgrade.

So maybe mild 1-1.5" lift and slightly bigger A/T tires...just like most folks around these forum parts. Might keep stock suspension. Will see.

Well done Curtice! That’s a fun collection you have there. Drove my 250 from Houston to Colorado earlier this month. Been off-roading some level 3 and 4 trails. Having a blast with it.

Wow. Beautiful collection and I particularly love your blue 40. The ride on these LCs is so great out of the box and the articulation is incredible. I’m sure you’ll find it extraordinarily capable for the types of off-roading you described.

Congrats! Thats a fun collection. Those 80-series are chef’s kiss.
