Fan-like noise while off

On more than one occasion I've noticed some kind of noise, possibly a fan, coming from the LC after it has been off and parked for hours. I'll go out into the garage and something is spinning/blowing/generating a noise. It eventually stops, but I wouldn't know how long it was happening. It might be coming from the rear of the car.

Any ideas what function this might be? It's getting cold here, so I don't think it would be heat related.

This is probably the evap canister running a leak test. This test is normal operation.

I heard a constant noise for like 5 minutes from the rear wheel area. Car was shut off for at least 3 hours or more. It sounded like low hum and I thought that it maybe the hybrid system electronics.
