Anyone have any info on ideal cold psi for these Falken A/T4W 265/70/18R? I know Falken lists them at 50psi MAX, but is there a BETTER psi for everyday?

That sounds high and probably makes for a harsh ride. try chalking.

Iโ€™ve tried various tire pressures with mine. I have the AT4W HDs. 36 is perhaps the nicest ride. Right now Iโ€™m at 48 cold which improves MPGs a little in change for a slightly harsher ride.

I would think the ideal tire pressure would be less than the door sticker recommendation of 33 for stock tire, due to assumed more sturdy tire side wall on the Falken A/T4W 265/70/18R

AT4W 265/70 R18 SL load here. Running them at door sticker pressure- 33/34psi ish cold.

I have the 20 inch E-load version, I had e-mailed Falken support and hereโ€™s what they said.

For the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser in LT265/60R20 E you are going to set the tires to 42 psi cold.

For the 2024 Tundra Platinum Hybrid in LT265/60R20 E you are going to set the tires to 46 psi cold.

Are you all happy with tires now that they have been on for a little while? Hows the road noise compaired to stock? Traction in the wet/dry/snow?

I am generally happy. They look great and perform well. Road noise is greater than the stock geolanders, but almost negligible. I haven't been in any really deep snow yet, but they've handled snowy/slushy/frost heaved New Hampshire roads really well, maybe better than I expected. Handling at higher speeds is perfectly fine. Biggest knock is the fuel economy, which has been awful for me since switching, but there are a lot of factors that go into that.

My best estimate for my Falken WildPeak AT4W LT255/80R17 (E load) is 39 psi. Here's how I figured it out:

1. Current Load Index is 112. According to Falken, an Index of 112 at 33 psi is a load of 2469 lbs. Evidently metric tires include a 10% overage when used on an SUV. So, the equivalent load I need for my tires is 2469/1.1 = 2104 lbs.

2. Based on Falken's table, for the LT255/80R17 the load at 35 psi is 1945 lbs and the load at 40 psi is 2135 lbs. Interpolating between the two, I get a value of 2097 lbs at 39 psi. That's pretty doggone close to the 2104 lbs on the 265/60R20 tires that came with the truck.

I've been running 39 psi for 4000 miles and it seems to be correct.

You can look up the load tables at Falken. The load index for the 265/70R18 is 116. For a load of 2469 the load tables show an inflation pressure between 31-32 psi. It's a lot easier to figure out for your tires since they are SL.
