Trips always come with unexpected twists and turns—but that’s what makes the journey unforgettable. We threw everything at the Land Cruiser 250 while exploring Moab, Canyonlands, Arches, and Dead Horse State Park. Towing a trailer and camping on BLM land was an epic experience—topped off by a surprise snowstorm in the mountains. The LC250 handled every trail like a pro. Already counting down to the next adventure.

That’s awesome. Utah is something in the plans for us, but I think the first big trip is Colorado. Just making it out there from Houston is already a trip in itself.
Side question, did you ever get yourself into a situation where you needed to disconnect your sway bar?

Nice, we were just out all around Utah last two weeks... wish I had my LC! (we were in our van).

Just a suggestion, saw the cell booster on your LC. I've stayed away from those over the years as it doesn't make cell signal out of no cell service. I installed a Starlink mini on our van (movable to the LC, magnet mounts). It was a game changer for the trip. We had cell/internet wherever we went.. no interruptions except during that big snow. They have a 10GB/$10/month that's a no brainer for emergency service if you needed it.

My bucket list for sure! Just a little long of a drive from Atlanta. However I see you came from Florida, so I just need to suck it up and make the drive. ha.

I did not, had one instance where I thought I might but kept ground contact the whole time. Unfortunately out trip and trail days was abbreviated due to our travel partner having a 4x4 fail so I only did milder trails with no trail buddy to bail us out if needed.

It’s long, but I will say the LC is hands down the most comfortable and capable long-distance traveling vehicle I’ve owned. Had Grand Cherokee’s, 4Runner, Audi Q5, MB Sprinter and none compare. I have a bad back and I drove hard 3 days each way with no discomfort at all. It’s worth it for Moab…just amazing.

$10/month? The cheapest I see on the Starlink website is $50/month. Can you provide a link to the $10/month plan?

You are so right!!! Funny story about that… We brought Starlink along, and it turned out to be a total game changer.

On Day 2, while leaving Hurrah Pass where we camped and heading toward Dead Horse State Park, my travel buddy lost 4x4 on a blind uphill corner on Hwy 313—no cell service anywhere. So, we popped up the Starlink and called for a tow like it was no big deal.

On Day 3, ha ha live and learn…I chickened out towing trailer back up the the switch backs at Hurrah Pass used Starlink to have off-road recovery company tow the trailer out. The LC would have been fine but this FL boy lost my nerve with a new LC and trailer rig not knowing how it would go. In hindsight sight would have been fine, but I was not confident enough and that’s not a place to learn on the fly. I later hit some trails and elevation and it was like a mountain goat even with the trailer but good learning experience!

Fast forward to our last night: a snowstorm rolled in while we were camped at high elevation near NP. I was seriously worried about getting stuck in ice the next morning when leaving, so we fired up Starlink again to check the winter storm warnings. Sure enough—significant snow incoming. We bailed just in time.

Worth every penny in a pinch.

Yes, that’s accurate and you can toggle between the two and change it, which is what I’m doing. For this trip I did the full $165/month because my wife and I both worked intermittently while we were gone for 10 days. So I just did the month of April. Then you can change it to monthly $10. That way you have it as an emergency in case you go on an impromptu trip but don’t need to work or use more data.

That’s unfortunate, but hey as long as you still enjoyed the trip.
You run skid plates?

I was out there a couple of weeks ago, we did the Willow Springs Road entrance to Arches. Drive was beautiful and the LC handled it beautifully

Good to know, it was on the schedule but we we got cut short a day and we actually camped in Raptor off Willow Springs the last night.

Great report and trip posting.
Considering all things,
Any suspension mods?
What tires?
Thx.

No suspension upgrades yet. Will eventually add upgraded coil springs and shocks to add a little more load capacity in rear for trailer. Also upgraded bump stops as well. Have to watch weight carefully with towing but I think these will add negligible weight. Researching that now and maybe wait until more offerings are out. Towed trailer offroad a bit and no bottoming out or control issues with current setup.

Tires are Nitto Terra Grappler G3 275/70-18, on stock rims, they are excellent so far with 10k miles. Just drove for a full day through snow ❄️ storm and driving rain storms for hours while towing the trailer and I was totally impressed with how these tires performed!!!

When you get the chance, it's a pretty easy drive other than maybe 1/4 mile around the entrance to the park. I would suggest making the turn out to Eye of the Whale Arch. It's a short hike to a gorgeous arch with almost no people there.

Definitely plan to come back, so much more to see. Thanks for the info.

I want to say they don't 'advertise' this... it only became available after I had the $50/50GB/month plan and then paused it. I feel like a few days later I got an email that said this was an option. I'm opted into this plan currently..
