I do agree that the Land Cruiser needs more power, the hybrid system isn’t consistently chipping in enough to justify itself. Beyond that I’m not really in agreement with old Doug.

I'm all for objectivity, and no vehicle is perfect, but directly comparing the 250 to a 200/300 series is an uneducated approach. Some people just need the clicks/engagement for that sweet ad revenue I guess

I've always liked his videos but this one was simply off the mark. By no means is the Land Cruiser perfect, but then again no car is. Sure I wish we had the V6 or an option for a third row, but this "hot-take" isn't going to age well.

What vehicle did he drive? Everything he sees as a weakness, I feel is a strength of the LC250.

I think the i-FORCE MAX 250 is plenty powerful. The 2.8 diesel everyone raves about makes 100 fewer lb-ft and takes more than 10 seconds to reach 60 mph. Can’t argue with the torque curve either, comparing to the non-hybrid 2.4T.
