I am posting this to share my experience in the delivery of a vehicle that was in transit and still is. I put a deposit on a LC on 6/27 t at that time showed a delivery date range of 7/8-7/20. As it got closer to the 8th the range changed to 7/14-7/22 no big deal I understand there are delays.
Vehicle arrives in port in NJ 7/9.
7/22 comes still no vehicle updated delivery date 7/22-7/23.
7/23 comes still no vehicle updated delivery 7/24-7/25 I am getting annoyed at this point.
7/25 comes I get a phone call from the dealership they just chnged my delivery date again 8/4-8/12. I am beyond annoyed now.
The dealership showed me the changes in the Toyota Delivery system each time so I know it was not the dealer screwing with me. I had a Vin number the whole time. The vehicle did not show a port hold due to damage which the dealer said Toyota would disclose. It just said port processing.
Toyota can and should do better this is in my opinion is embarrising.
I sold my vehicle on 7/3 so I need another car I ccould not wait any longer so I do a search and find one semi local that just came in and is about $2,000 more and make a deal so long story short I got my Land Cruiser. I am sharing this so that if someone else experiences something similar they are aware that it's probably the new normal for Toyota. Luckily I was able to find a vehicle it had more options than I really wanted but am still happy I was able to win the Toyota Lottery system and get a car.

Port delays are not a new thing, back when this forum first started with the 2024 LC, there were very few who reserved an LC that got it on the expected dealer delivery date. Many, many posts on this.

Shipping companies. Trying to get a full load going to same dealership usually. I, too, may be in this scenario as my dealership is small....unless it is full of incoming 2026s. July was a wierd time and most dealer lots were wildly vacant. Not much was being delivered.

most likely waiting for Port Installed Items or worst, the car was damaged in transit and they trying to fix it at the port

The only port installed item was the rear all weather cargo mat takes about 30 seconds to install. It was not a damage hold because the dealer said they would have showed that on the tracking and would have to disclose it to the customer.

Good to know. Then it is probably waiting for a ride

From my personal experience, dealers have no clue of what does or does not happen at the port! It could be as simple as adding an all weather cargo mat, but if the port doesn't have enough mats...... it's on hold, if it's as simple as hood only PPF and the port doesn't have enough hood only PPF kits....... it's on hold.

Could be as simple as waiting for enough vehicles to fill up a train car to a certain region or enough to fill up a transporter to a certain region. There are many, many posts with all the guessing, complaints and screen shots you would ever care to read. Bottom line until it arrives at the dealership only Inspector 24 knows for sure what's happening..........;)

This may be shocking, but sometimes the vehicles show up early, too. Getting a car from Japan to the dealer is a complicated piece of logistics with a lot of moving parts. I'm not surprised that your shipping date kept moving - that's normal in the course of business. I've had the same experience with two different Toyota's from Japan that showed up later than expected. I've also had a Toyota show up two weeks earlier than expected. So, never trust the delivery date!
